Through his decree of July 14, 2020, Father Arturo Sosa, the Superior General of the Society of Jesus appointed Very Rev. Fr. Kizito Kiyimba, SJ as the next Provincial of Eastern Africa. Father General congratulated him for accepting to take up this important mission in the Society of Jesus.
Currently, Fr. Kiyimba is the Vice Chancellor of Arrupe Jesuit University in Harare, Zimbabwe. He obtained a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Science from London School of Economics in 2009. Since then Fr. Kiyimba has dedicated his energy in the formation of ours at Arrupe. He joined the Society of Jesus on July 30, 1991. He was ordained to the priesthood on August 5, 2000, and made final vows on December 21, 2013.
We pray that the Lord may grant him the graces to lead in wisdom and charity. As we embark on the leadership transition process, let us continue praying for the Eastern Africa Province that they may continue growing in advancing the mission of the Society of Jesus. We thank the Lord for Fr. Kizito Kiyimba SJ as he takes up this new mission. Fr. Kiyimba will take office on December 3, 2020.

If you wish to make a donation by direct bank transfer please contact Fr Paul Hamill SJ treasurer@jesuits.africa. Fr Paul will get in touch with you about the best method of transfer for you and share account details with you. Donations can be one-off gifts or of any frequency; for example, you might wish to become a regular monthly donor of small amounts; that sort of reliable income can allow for very welcome forward planning in the development of the Society’s works in Africa and Madagascar.
Often it is easier to send a donation to an office within your own country and Fr Paul can advise on how that might be done. In some countries this kind of giving can also be recognised for tax relief and the necessary receipts will be issued.
